First, the search function opens idea selector dialog (figure 4.20) which displays ideas matching the current search criteria.

To activate, or retrieve the last used search criteria, click on the "Search criteria" button, which opens the criteria dialog box (see the next paragraph).

When this dialog is validated, idea selector filters ideas according to the new search criteria and displays how many ideas were found.

To modify an idea, just double click it.

The idea selector displays the ideas in a grid report, and lets you :

• display and resize all or part of idea attributes, 
• sort and group ideas by attributes values.
• quick edit idea attributes without leaving the grid report.

The "Save..." button saves the current report grid configuration.

The "Load..." button restores a previously saved report grid configuration.

The "Export to CSV..." button exports the currently displayed ideas, with respect to the current field display and order, and to the idea sorting.

And the "OK" button closes the selector and automatically sets the main tree view on the last idea that was selected in the report grid (new current idea).

Note : A magnifying glass on the "Selection Criteria" button means that a search criterion is active.
