7.8.6. FAQ : Importing bibliographies in standard formats

How can I import bibliographies in predefined library formats ?

WIT has today its own internal format for publications management, but you can import bibliographic data from any CSV format provided you map it to WIT format through the import dialog box (in the menu "Publications / Import a list (text)", press F1 for help once the dialog is displayed).

If you want to create more specific collections (for example, a database of URLs with comments, images, etc...) and want to create an index of it, you also can create a WIT document, customize its custom fields (Menu "File / Options"), and import data in the same way as books (with the "Import/Export -> Import ideas from CSV file" menu).

You can also associate books or other ideas to ideas. What's more, ideas are indexable (with keywords). On the other side, books can be filtered by theme, whereas ideas can be hierarchised.
