          5.12. Web sites
5.12.4. Upload on a Web server by FTP

This functions deploys the Web site on an intranet or internet server, with standard FTP protocol (file transfer protocol).

Web server should also be an FTP server. Most Internet Services Providers (ISP) servers are both : a space is allocated, and an account name and password too.

An active Internet connexion is mandatory to perform the file transfer.

Enter following options :

FTP server: the server name such as given by the ISP (mandatory field).
User account : your account (mandatory field).
Password : your password (mandatory field).
Local source directory : the directory where the site was generated (if it was just created, the directory name is up to date).
Target distant directory : usually a void name, when the site should be installed at the root of the allocated server space.

Establish Internet connexion (external means), and press then the "Transfer" button. Messages and a progress bar show transfer steps and success.

Some transfer errors may occur.

They are explained by WIT :

Internet connection not available, unknown server, bad account, wrong password.
Read/write rights on distant FTP server.
