FTP errors types are numerous, and they can have multiple origins. Most frequent causes (with variants) are :

- connection errors (bad user name, password, server...).

- insufficient permissions on the distant server (for instance read only files).

- transmission errors on the DSL or phone line (relatively frequent with the phone).

- heavy load on the network, and timeouts either on the sever on on your computer.

 

In all cases WIT will give a basic diagnosis. To better understand the problem, I advise you to use an external FTP client (such as smartFTP, CuteFTP, etc...). You'll be able to graphically upload your files and get a better feedback.

Once your problem is solve, you may use WIT FTP again and benefit of its integration and its optimizations in only modified files upload.
