 7.3.4. FAQ : URLs

I'm a bit confused on URL's: when I type a url into the edit window it appears to become an active link (which is great) and I assume it will export as a link. What's the advantage of the links entered under the item property? Where does this appear? I entered a test one and it doesn't seem to appear in the item body.. is the link used for the title?

You may type absolute URLs in the text area of an idea (of a page). You may also add (absolute) URLs in the Links tab of idea properties : these URLs will be grouped together and displayed apart from the main text, such as a footer note, provided the corresponding options are enabled in the current structure template. In this case, edit the structure template (expert mode), choose the Idea tab in the dialog, and add the 'external links' item in the rightmost list (choose also the display order of your items). Save and you'll see your URLs in the preview tab at the place you specified. This applies to all the document.

(Why such a choice ? It is a personal point of view but I feel annoying all these links everywhere in hypertexts : the problem is to stay focused on the reading and I find it better to have linear reading, such as in a book, with footnotes.

I have written WIT in the purpose of publishing electronic books, and web sites with presentation and style rules.)
